You’re a hard time out on the street You can see me, an off wave doll But you’re complete, completely I couldn’t go, you couldn’t leave No, you couldn’t leave There’s a hard time I know it’s coming That’s my heart now Hear it breaking And that’s your hand Clasped around the ending I’m feeling down And it’s just the beginning Well, it’s a hard time out on the street You can see me and I could bleed On the sidewalk up to the trees I couldn’t go, you couldn’t leave No, you couldn’t leave There’s a hard time I know it’s coming That’s my heart now Hear it breaking And that’s your hand Clasped around the ending I’m feeling down And it’s just the beginning You’re a hard time out on the street You can see me, an off wave doll But you’re complete, completely I couldn’t go, you couldn’t leave No, you couldn’t leave

The Program 02:54
Well it's starting to bore me, what goes on You do everything for me it’s so wrong If I don’t get with the program they’ll just find someone else To accept what’s unacceptable and carry it from me They don’t know what you know, man, so don’t tell anyone I don’t know about you But it’s getting so deadly walking home And ain’t nowhere so friendly all alone Who y’all can pretend to be on your phones Well, it might be the end of me, who knows If I don’t get too upset then I guess I’m doing alright As one situation’s ending another comes to light And I don’t know just what you think of me, but it can’t be all that bad If I don’t get with the program you’ll just find someone else To protect all you’re offering and never make you sad They don’t know what you got, man, so don’t choose anyone Unless you’re thinking about me Why would anyone hurt you, oh, so kind To everyone you keep on your mind And when they disrespect you, it’s a crime Don’t know how they expect you not to cry If I don’t get with the program it’ll just be someone else I can’t trust them to care, man, so please protect yourself If you’re as quiet as a mouse then they won’t hear anything And if you keep very still then they can’t see you coming Wish I could be there

Everywhere I look there’s a chemical trust Forming up to a picture of us We’re looking out at an entire life Passing you by in the blink of an eye You melt away all the poison people play with in the night You and I know that it’s not alright You seem ok, only took a single day To wonder what you think about Everywhere I look there’s a chemical trust Forming up to a picture of us We’re looking out at an entire life Passing you by in the blink of an eye I’ll see you around Wanna be more than friends? Would it be ok? I wanna hear you say Wonder if you wanna be Mean something more to me Everywhere I look there’s a chemical trust Forming up to a picture of us We’re looking out at an entire life Passing you by in the blink of an eye You shower praise when you’re looking at my face it’s not my place To wonder if you wanna be You look at me the way I always wanna be I’m thinking if I’d ask you out I wonder if it would be wrong I wonder if we’d get along

about

Bishop, Greenia and Lavender are Postlexic in
PARACOSMISEMIOTIC

This is another short EP of weird guitar pop

The term "Off Wave" came up, and I think it fits for a description of these tunes

The reason these stand out is because they were recorded with Isaac Bishop on the drums, and include a vocal from Naomi Lavender

I finished the lyrics and did the other stuff

Now we have it, "Off Wave" music for your enjoyment, collected under a project called "Postlexic" [despite having lyrics] on a release entitled "Paracosmisemiotic" [despite being about relatable issues more than prog rock fantasies]

credits

released December 27, 2021

Drums - Isaac Bishop
Hand percussion, Bass, Guitar, Vox - Matt Greenia
Vox on "Off Wave Doll" - Naomi Lavender
