I never really listened to hip hop much
But once I gave it a try I just found the touch
It don’t take much to lay out words across time
Make up a beat and I’ll bring the rhyme

Everywhere I look seems like people got a gimmick
You can tell they got the look but their heart’s not really in it
Some wear masks and some wear capes
Looking back now it all seems like a big mistake

Naw, I don’t need spandex and I don’t need gold lame
I’m just trying to get you to hear what I have to say
See how respectful I am to the source material
Everyone is gonna see I’m a serial

A mad maniac that shouldn’t really even be up here

When I was coming up rap was in its infancy
Like three amigos known for its infamy

Every day we’d play a beat box in the lunch room
Learned all about harsh life too soon
Ghetto blaster pumping jams all gathered around
Settle matters by the dozens on the playground

Hanging with my friends in the neighborhood
Coming from all walks trying to be understood
My Mom’s is pretty chill she’d let me play what I play
Except for Body Count when she heard that she threw it away

I never thought that I would ever get around to rap
But then this music found me, sometimes it works like that
I hope you found this little experiment amusing
